7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners

My weak spot would have to be Habit #4 (Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner). I always have anxiety when taking a new course because I look at the whole course at once instead of breaking it down into smaller steps. Once I start completing assignments and getting positive feedback my anxiety lessens. You would think that after 14 years in education and teaching in-services to other teachers those experiences would make it a lot easier to take courses. On the plus side I love Habit # 6 (Use Technology to your advantage) and Habit #7 (Teach/mentor others). Whenever I do learn something new technology-wise I enjoy sharing it with my colleagues. Especially if it is something that our school can utilize easily.

First Blog!

Using a blog to publish ideas, lessons or stories can be a great tool and I am anxious to give it a whirl. Our school filters blogs so I won't be able to do anything with it at school but can access it at home. I did set up another blog through thoughts.com because our school filter hasn't picked up on that one yet.
